Huanuco Mission Trip 2008

Dear Family and Friends,

there has been a lot happening in this month of october. Fall semester of 2008 is half way through. Things are in full swing here in Peru. One of the main things that had passed recently is our semester missions trip. Usually every year we decided to have different choices to go but this year we first decided to go to Tingo Maria. But the Lord by his spirit really directed us to Huanuco, the city of eternal spring. This mission trip was totally spirit lead. It really all came up fast. 39 people had decided to go. ranging from spanish students to english students. The mission trip was five days long which consisted of VBS, street witnessing, dramas, and personal testimonies. The Vbs itself consisted of 3 days and each day we had gone down the park and did games, sang songs and told the story of Davids life. In the mean time during all this fun and excitement for the children some of us were able to shared with the parents. The Lord had opened up so many doors for us to the Gospel. We got to shared in two different schools with a skit of David and Goliath. There was even one day we got to go on a children's T.V. station and tell the same story and sing songs as well. Some people had to the opportunity to speak on a radio station about what the Lord was doing in Huanuco. Many of the people we had spoke to on the streets were invited to come the Calvary Chapel Huanuco where Fernando teaches at. This is where we had church thursday night, and sunday but on saturday night a movie. Many of the people who had gotten invited and we had shared with on the streets and in parks came to the movie and to church that following sunday. Looking back on it and even in the midst of all these things the Lord really filled us with the spirit and lead us with his hand. He really truly blessed the trip from safety, living situations, and beautiful weather. Praise and glory to him for all the things he had done and is still doing. The Lord really brought all of is together even more close than before. He used every person in many different ways on this trip. September 14th Concert

Just recently we had a concert at the spanish church here. It was a plan in the making at first and we had waited a while for this day to come. We had a few of our students make some banners to put at the concert. Finally september 14th came and the church had come together to join in this event. we just had worship playing the whole night by Jason Bonner and band. One of our very own students played in this band. There was also skits done by some people. We had just played music all night. It was awesome to see how many people had showed, friends and family came and had a blast. The Lord had done so much work in people lives through this concert, we totally saw the Lords hand in all of this and to his people jumping around singing praises to him was something the Lord smiled upon. Thank you for all who came and all you had helped put this all together.

This was the skit that had been performed. This was about how we have been adopted by Jesus and how he guides us through our life and takes on the beatings for us by the enemy. He is always there to pick us back up and walk along with us.

Joshua class/Orphanage.

Week 3 of classes has come and go here at calvary chapel bible college. This semester we had Kevin Green come down from Fort Brag california to teach the 2nd block which was Joshua. This class was exactly two weeks long. The first week of classes was a little different. They decided to have the class at the orphanage that calvary chapel is putting together (Left hand, photo credit: benjamin Simon). All the students had gone down there to take part in this event of helping out. In the morning we had breakfast, devotions, and class. Then we had lunch, then straight to work we went! The students helped out by scrapping the old paint off the walls, putting new paint on the walls and cleaned the inside and out of the orphanage, we all worked together as a family and got a lot done. We had done this for about four days from afternoon until dinner we had worked. This really helped out a lot, it made definite progress. It really made a difference by helping Justin and his family out with this too. The second week of classes took place at the bible college it was a little better for the kevin green and his fellow friends to just have them here. The students were totally bless by kevin and we are greatly thankful for taking the time to come here to teach. The Lord totally use kevin during his stay and it was hard to let them go. The orphanage is still in process of being built so please keep this in your prayers. Thank You Kevin and the fellow family that came down to help. Also thank students for your hard work and helping hands in this, your work was not in vain.

Surf Camp 2008

That time a year again family! every year calvary chapel bible college has a surf camp during the summer. This years surf camp was in Punta Hermosa, Peru. Each camp was for 3 days. there was exactly two of them the 1st was for younger kids ranging in the age of Jr high. The 2nd camp was for old kids ranging in the age of High school. We even had a team come from california to help out with this event. The camp had people from the bible college helping as well. The camp had a lot of events that took place such as worship, bible studies, games and most of all the campers learned how to surf.

The also had baptisms, many people gave their lives to Lord at each surf camp. The Life guard (garrett baker) even got to save a mans life and shared the gospel to the man and his whole family. This years surf camp went very well being able to experience the earlier morning creations and perfect sunset paintings. We have this surf camp every year if you would like information on this surf camp for the next upcoming year of 2009 please be looking for announcements on sunday morning and evening services.

Ventanilla Outreach 08

One of the Biggest and main summer event was " Ventanilla Outreach." This event was in invasion of the neighboring towns Vantanilla (foreground) and Pachacutec ( on hills). Pachacutec is one of poorest and dangerous communities in Peru. It was an outreached that towards the youth, and young children. just some of 175 participants in this outreach. It was a three day event full of masses of children. Clowns were there able to send out inspirational messages to these children and they had Loved it. There were also heartfelt skits perform by of some of the participants that expressed the freedom we enjoy in Jesus. I think we all know a child's heart and how so much trust and openness to Love they were the most opened to the message. Tracks were handed out that read " Good news invasion Ventanilla." these we handed throughout the whole community of Pachacute. Many evangelism teams went door to door giving free car washes to spread the good news. Speaking of free! there was even free dential and free medical care to patients that received prayer. That evening the concert took place put on by calvary chapel of Melbourne Florida. Through this overwhelming success the Lord allowed us to minister to thousands of people the good news of the gospel. Through all this many had made heartfelt dedications to the Lord with hearts of repentance and tears of brokenness and Joy. There have been many different church plants in Ventanilla and Pachacute please remember to pray for these churches as well. We want to thank you for all your prayers and sponsorship and prayers.

Inductive Bible study conference

Dear readers,

In the last post i have mentioned that there have been many things that have taken place. There are many ways the Lord has been able to minster to the people as well as South American Pastors. This pass week CCBC-Peru hosted a important seminar with Bill Holdridge of Intensive Care Ministries to prepare 27 pastors from Various South American countries to teach the Inductive Bible study method. The Conference was a week long conference that took place here at the bible college campus itself. These Methods will help these Pastors to teach other students how to study the bible in a more effective way, and to also teach how to get into the scriptures to pull out the truth and essence of the scriptures.

Dear family and friends,

we are very sorry for not keeping this updated like we had said it would be. you might be wondering where is news? where are the photos? what is the Lord really doing here in Lima and Peru itself? well first above most the Lord has been doing tremendous work here. we had students come and go and some even staying longer than they had expected. semesters have gone by and as well as many events. we will have more updates and photos for you sooner than you think. we are still trying to get in the swing of things and still trying to pull out the old photos to put to get you all caught up. so please be patient with us with this site and please checking for new updates. thank you and we greatly appreciate your patience.

This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, and finally found a minute here at the end of our Fall 2007 semester to sit down with my son Joshua, and have him help me set up the official CCBC-Peru blogsite.

Each semester, students comment how life on our campus is like being in a close-knit family. And it is SO true! We eat together, study together and minister together for months, and forge strong relationships we expect to endure thoughout eternity. And as with any family, some move away and we must say goodbye. I envision this blog to be an interactive "scrapbook," and my attempt to help keep the family informed on what Jesus is doing in all of our lives.

I hope this environment will be a special blessing to so many present and former CCBC-Peru students for years to come! I also hope that visitors and prospective students will find the following student contributions helpful for you to understand the very special ministry that is going on through the Peru ministries.

This blog is for you, the alumni of CCBC-Peru, so that you might glorify the Lord through it by your plentious and frequent contributions. Enjoy, and have fun!
